I love burger night because there are endless ways of making them and they are so good! This burger I made is so flavorful and again was devoured very quickly. Burgers are the all time versatile food and easy to make. I usually like herbs, hot sauce and the works on mine. I always use lean ground beef so it contains less fat. You won't find a burger like this at a fast food restaurant. Give this one a try and let me know how you like it.

1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 onion, minced
2 tbsp dried rosemary
3-4 tbsp fresh parsley, torn or finely chopped
1/2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp pickle relish
1 tsp yellow mustard
1- 2 tsps Franks Red hot sauce
1 egg
1/4- 1/2 c wheat germ
1 lb organic lean ground beef
1 tsp olive oil
Few slices cheese for top
Whole grain burger buns or bread (I used organic, sprouted grain bread, toasted)
Few slices cheese for top
Whole grain burger buns or bread (I used organic, sprouted grain bread, toasted)
Toppings (mayo, mustard, spinach, tomato, lettuce, onion, etc)
Asparagus, ends trimmed or snapped off
EVOO
Sprinkle S + P
In large bowl add everything except beef and oil. Mix well. Add the olive oil to a large non stick pan. Add beef to bowl and mix well again. Form into one round ball and score into four sections. Form each section into a patty, a little bit thinner in the middle for even cooking time. Place patties in pan. Turn heat to medium high and cook first side until darkened, flip over and turn heat down to medium. Continue cooking until no pink is left. It will take about 15- 20 mins. During last five mins of cooking add thinly sliced cheese to the top to melt. Place on whole grain bun or bread with mayo and mustard and top with spinach or your choice of toppings.
Blanch the asparagus by boiling H20. Add the asparagus with the woody ends trimmed or snapped off and blanch about five mins. Drain and add 1 tsp EVOO and a sprinkle of S + P. Serve with the burger. ENJOY!
